This adjustable sight mount was designed particularly for Norair Division,
Northrop Corporation as a sight harmonizer for the "Norsight" on T-38
and T-54 installations as well as a standard mount for that sight when
used in other aircraft.
To meet the special requirements of access and ease of adjusting and locking, extended azimuth and elevation controls have been provided and these in turn supplied with hex heads.
Instead of the characteristic indirect locking feature on this size mount, a standard hex head AN bolt is inserted into the central stud into a Heli-Coil locking insert.
The use of a mount such as this is recommended where direct attachment
to an instrument base might provide a lower center of gravity and where
quick-disconnect is not required.
